Animal Suffering: The hidden ingredient in Cosmetic
Companies who care about animals don’t use inhumane animal testing methods to ensure the safety of their cosmetics, like: The Body Shop, Nivea. But unfortunately many Companies are killing millions of animals for this reason. This experiments measure the level of skin irritancy, eye damage and toxicity caused by some substances in cosmetics. For example, the rabbits who are been testing every day, to evaluate damage to sensitive eyes tissues, they scream when the substances are applied in their eyes because is extremely painful for them and sometimes break necks or backs trying to escape the restraints.
Each species reacts differently to various substances, the test results cannot be extrapolated from a mouse to a rat, let alone from a rat to a human, and also depend of the age, nutrition, etc., of each animal.
