HISTORY
Throughout the last decades we have started to revive and organizate all over the continent, meetings of indigenous people that have given a new breath of hope to the voice of the native America, which has remained silent during the last five centuries. With this we have achieved the resurgence of his ancestral word, full of wisdom, the offering of their singings, dances and ceremonies and his voice of encouragement and hope for the entire humanity.
The continental meeting “Roots of the Earth” takes part of that process of cultural and spiritual rebirth of the big indigenous nations, and comes from the vision of a native elder man from the Big Mountain reserve and Lakotas of the South Dakota region, called Raymundo “Tiger” Perez, who has given his life to the spreading of the spiritual indigenous essence between the American, indigenous and half-blood people.
The ceremonial meeting of the Spiritual Indigenous Authorities of America “Roots of the Earth”, is a weaving of respect, solidarity and mutual assessment of the indigenous people with the mainstream society where the knowers share the heritage of their ancestral knowledge, specially their ritual practices, with the goal of contributing to the healing of the Earth and the Human kind, also to strengthen the purpose of unity, harmony and healing.
“Roots of the Earth” develops multiple ritual, artistic, cultural and social activities, It is before all an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with other people, harmonize the relationships and exchanging stories that take part in the cultural life, looking for reciprocity relationships, mutual help and working together for goals and common values that protect and recognize Mother Nature and help to generate a more fair, conscious and sustainable society.
This event is also conducive for the exchange of life experiences about traditional medicine, plants, rituals, calendars, productive procedures, ceremonial objects, internal ordering and own thinking systems. The principal activities that are developed are:
